Atal Amrit Abhiyan Health Insurance Scheme has been active in Assam since December 2016. The Assam government has witnessed a positive response from the huge number of state residents applying for it since the launch.
As of March 2020, there have been 245,491 (Above Poverty Line) family enrollments, 15,889,339 (Below Poverty Line) family enrollments, and a total of 85,717 treatments. The state government has also said that it will bear an additional burden of 200 crores to implement the scheme in the state.
It is a health insurance scheme launched by the state government of Assam in December 2016. The scheme offers coverage to families falling under the BPL and APL categories with an annual income of less than INR 5 Lakhs.
There are a total of 437 diseases and medical treatments covered under the scheme divided into 6 categories, namely: Cancer Heart Diseases Kidney Diseases Neurological Ailments Neonatal Ailments Burns
Families who earn less than INR 5 lakhs and are officially Below the Poverty Line and Above the Poverty Line are eligible to register under the Atal Amrit Abhiyan Health Insurance Scheme.
The government-impanelled hospitals and CGHS hospitals within and outside of the state will offer cashless hospitalization and treatment facilities to the citizens of Assam. You can avail of the treatments by showing your Atal Amrit Abhiyan card.
Annually, beneficiaries of the health scheme are provided with INR 2 Lakhs of health coverage in all listed hospitals.
